MP550 Material Placer
G&Z's MP550 material placer is the first fresh look at material placer designs in over 40 years. The MP550's patented high production hopper is capable of receiving concrete or aggregates from a wide variety of trucks unloading them as quickly as they can dump at what is typically twice the production rate of conventional placers. The high volume hopper's unique front "flop gate" is only 21" (553mm) off the ground and hydraulically hinges up and seals against the truck to minimize spillage and to transfer the last of the truck’s contents to the auger. The MP550's 35' (10.66m) long Swing Conveyor pivots 170 degrees without spillage at the transfer point and has a hinge point near the tail pulley for ease of clearing stringline and other job site obstructions without increasing the discharge height. The Swing and Transfer conveyors have been meticulously designed to provide for replacing vulcanized belts, eliminating stalling or slippage and ease of access for cleaning to keep operating costs as low as possible. The MP550 features four wheel drive with low maintenance high flotation tires where both the front and rear wheels steer allowing coordinated tight radius turning, crab and automatic steering. Jacking columns are available for hydraulic elevation control which allows greater ground clearance under the conveyor tail pulleys for ease of maneuvering on site, loading and cleaning. The MP550 is powered by a low-emissions, quiet, fuel efficient CAT C7.1 US EPA Tier 4f / EU Stage V compliant six-cylinder diesel engine with excellent access to all pumps and filters. The electrical and hydraulic / filtration systems feature the latest components to ensure long life, reliability, enhanced troubleshooting and monitoring of hydraulic circuits flow, pressure, and filter conditions. With G&Z’s exclusive operator Belly Pack, the operator can operate the MP550 from the ground or riding on the machine while standing or sitting.
